Join us for this collaboration with our Culinary Department at SCC!
Chef Martin Brunner will be sharing Food Safety for preserving a garden harvest. How many of us have had a great harvest and now wonder how we can preserve our veggies to last us into the winter? Learn some do’s and don'ts in food preservation from jams to vegetables.
We also thought it would be nice to share any excess harvest we may have right now, so if you do and want to bring any extra vegetables or fruit you have from your home garden, please come a little earlier to swap and share with others. Any food that doesn't get taken will be donated to a local foodbank that accepts fresh produce.
*PLEASE NOTE: You do not have to bring anything to attend the canning presentation!
The harvest share will start at 9:30am and the canning presentation will begin around 10:00am.
